Archie Leroy Yates Jr., 73, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Friday, May
10, 2024 at Beardstown Health & Rehab Center.
He was born on July 10, 1950 in Rushville, IL a son of
the late Archie Sr., and Zelda Reeder Yates.
He married Georgina Claassen, Betty Moore and Doris
Breeden Burnett. They all preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter; Holly Acheson & Alan of
Rushville, IL, step-daughter; Rosa Wilson,
granddaughters; Keely Keitzer & Keaton & Katie Acheson, a
sister; Nancy Guilliams of Effingham, a sister-in-law; Meta
Yates of Vine Grove, KY, nephews; Andy Yates, Jacky Yates,
Raymond Yates, a niece; Cristy Irwin & Kenny of Edmond, OK,
great-nephews, Levi Yates and eleven cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother; Albert “Robert”
Yates, a brother-in-law, seven aunts & uncles and three cousins.
Archie worked at various jobs in the area and retired
from D & D Enterprise in Beardstown.
Cremation has been accorded. Private inurnment will be in
Rushville City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Cass-Schuyler
Hospice.

Terry Lee “Pitchfork” Prather, 68, of Rushville, IL passed away
at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at his home.
He was born on May 12, 1955 in Rushville a son of the
late William & Retha Wells Prather.
He married Kathy Eskridge on February 14, 1982 in the
Industry Methodist Church.
She survives along with (2) sons; Ryan Prather & Haley of
Mt. Sterling, IL, Aaron Prather & Sarah of Jacksonville, FL, (4)
grandchildren; Audrey, Alyssa, Tinley, Hazel, (1) brother; Scott
Prather & Angie of Rushville, Il, (3) brothers-in-law; Brad
Eskridge & Marlene of Industry, IL, Greg Eskridge & Monica of
Industry, IL, Gary Morrell of Camden, IL, (2) sisters-in-law:
Rhonda Hand & Bill of Excello, MO, Barbara Eskridge of Cairo,
MO, numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by (1) sister; Marsha Morrell.
He graduated from Rushville High School with the class of
1973. Terry drove a truck for a living.
As a trucker, Terry drove millions of miles, made lots of
friends and had several stories.
He attended Houston Methodist Church and was an avid
NASCAR fan. He also
enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his children &
grandchildren. When he
had extra free time he spent it cleaning and polishing his truck
and his other vehicles. Funeral services will be held at 10:00
a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Worthington Funeral Home with
Rev. Dan Wise officiating.
Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the
funeral home. Memorials may be given to Cass-Schuyler Hospice or
Hope Blooms.

Terry J. Stiles, 82, of Rushville, IL, passed away at 5:30 a.m.
on May 8, 2024 at his home.
He was born on March 6, 1942 in Virginia, IL a son of the
late Donald & Dorothy Bateman Stiles.
He married Roberta Gorsuch on August 21, 1976 at the
Beardstown Methodist Church. She survives along with (1) son;
Tony Royer of Rushville, IL, (1) grandson; Matthew Royer of
Bluffs, IL, (1) sister; Donna Fretueg of Rushville, IL, (2)
nieces; Dana Renee, Dawn Michelle, (1) nephew; David Troy.
He was preceded in death by (1) grandson; Ben Royer, (1)
brother; Richard Stiles.
He was an Army Veteran serving in Vietnam receiving The
Purple Heart for wounds in combat.
Terry was employed by Oscar Meyer before becoming a meat
inspector for the federal government.
As a meat inspector he worked at Excel & Cargill before
retiring. He enjoyed
making knives, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. Funeral
services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 13, 2024 at
Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating.
Inurnment will follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in
Virginia, IL with Military Honors.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of
service on Monday.
Memorials may be given to Avenue of Flags or Cass-Schuyler Area
Hospice.

LaVerne DeMoss, 66, of Rushville, IL passed away at 7:24 a.m.
Thursday, April 25, 2024 at his home.
He was born on July 23, 1957 in Macomb, IL.
He was the son of Ronald E. “Lefty” & Linda Powell
DeMoss. He is survived by his mother, Linda Brown of Rushville,
IL, (1) son; Keith DeMoss (Michel) of Rushville, IL, (1)
grandson: Keaton DeMoss, (1) granddaughter; Kynzie DeMoss, (2)
sisters; Mindy Newell (Brian) of Rushville, IL, Kristi Laning
(Eric) of
Mt. Sterling, IL. (4) nieces, Jennifer Robinson, Gail DeMoss,
Lacey Riggs, Hallie Laning, (2) nephews;
Beau Newell and Jake
Laning, several aunts, uncles, cousins and a special friend,
Verna Smith. He was
preceded in death by his father, (1) son; Troy Jay “T.J.”
DeMoss, (1) brother; Mitchell “Mitch” DeMoss, (1) nephew; Nathan
Cooper, Step-father; Bob Brown. When he was young Mike enjoyed
riding motorcycles.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and
attended the Rushville Nazarene Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday,
April 30, 2024 at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Fritz
officiating.
Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
service on Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to his family.

Sharon Lindsey, 89, of
Astoria, IL passed away at 8:10 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024 at
her home. She was born
on June 26 1934 in Sheldon’s Grove, IL a daughter of the late
Russell & Constance Crable Painter.
She married Dale Lindsey on January 28, 1953 in the
Astoria Methodist Church Parsonage. He preceded her in death on
December 23, 2022. They
are survived by (3)
daughters; Cynthia Durham of Peoria, IL, Coleen Kalb & husband
Joe of Peoria, IL, Melody Matthais & husband of Dirk of Itasca,
IL, (2) sons; Kent Lindsey of Delavan, IL, Carroll Lindsey of
Delaware, OH, (17) grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren.
They were preceded in death by (1) son; John Lindsey, (1)
granddaughter; Jayme Lindsey. They were members of the Sheldon’s
Grove United Methodist Church and former members of the San Jose
United Methodist Church.
Sharon was a floral designer for over 50 years. Dale was a
carpenter & millwright.
He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local #644 for all of
his life. They both
enjoyed gardening & taking care of their yard.
Funeral services will be
held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2024 at their residence in
Astoria, IL with lay speaker Barbara Wooldridge officiating.
Private inurnment will follow at Sheldon’s Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Astoria Fire & Rescue.
